A Swiss-Thai collaboration in an innovative live/online hybrid format
In collaboration with the Bangkok International Children’s Festival, the Joshua Monten Dance Company developed a hybrid live/online flashmob project, connecting more than a hundred participants on two different continents. As a creative response to the formidable challenges of the corona pandemic, ดานส์เครส ๒o๒๑ / DANCE CRAZE 2021 provided an opportunity for dance fans of all ages in lockdown, school classes and families to rediscover the joys of dancing together.
The nucleus of the project were instructional dance videos filmed by the Joshua Monten Dance Company. These then formed the basis for workshops (both live and online) led by professional dancers in Switzerland and Thailand. The project culminated in four separate flashmobs which took place in four different cities. The separate flashmobs were then connected into a series of online videos.
